As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and good luck. The goal is to move your pieces safely around the game board to your inside board and at the same time your opposition moves their pieces toward their home board in the opposing direction. With competing player checkers heading in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for particular strategies at specific instances. Here are the 2 final Backgammon techniques to round out your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the purpose of the blocking strategy is to hamper the opponents ability to move their pieces, the Priming Game plan is to completely stop any activity of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get hit, or result a bad position if he at all tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anywhere between point two and point eleven in your board. Once you have successfully built the prime to stop the activity of the competitor, the opponent does not even get to roll the dice, that means you move your pieces and toss the dice yet again. You will be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Strategy
The objectives of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game plan are very similar – to hinder your opponent’s positions hoping to better your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game plan uses different techniques to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is frequently employed when you are far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this plan, you have to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more complex than others to use in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are moved is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
