The Essential Details of Backgammon Strategies – Part Two

As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of ability and luck. The aim is to shift your pieces carefully around the game board to your inside board and at the same time your opposing player moves their chips toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With opposing player checkers moving in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for particular tactics at specific times. Here are the two final Backgammon tactics to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the aim of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to shift his pieces, the Priming Game strategy is to absolutely block any movement of the opposing player by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s checkers will either get hit, or end up in a damaged position if she at all tries to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. After you have successfully constructed the prime to prevent the movement of your competitor, the competitor does not even get a chance to roll the dice, and you move your chips and roll the dice yet again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The aims of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game strategy are similar – to harm your competitor’s positions with hope to improve your odds of winning, but the Back Game tactic relies on alternate tactics to do that. The Back Game technique is generally utilized when you are far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this tactic, you have to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This tactic is more complex than others to use in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your chips and how the chips are moved is partly the result of the dice roll.
