As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and luck. The goal is to shift your chips carefully around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opposition shifts their chips toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With opposing player checkers shifting in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for specific tactics at particular times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon techniques to finish off your game.
The Priming Game Plan
If the purpose of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to shift their checkers, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely barricade any activity of the opposing player by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s checkers will either get hit, or end up in a bad position if she at all tries to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your half of the board. After you have successfully built the prime to prevent the movement of the opponent, the competitor doesn’t even get to roll the dice, and you move your checkers and roll the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Tactic
The aims of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to hinder your opponent’s positions with hope to improve your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game plan relies on alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game technique is generally employed when you’re far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this plan, you have to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more difficult than others to use in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your pieces and how the chips are moved is partly the outcome of the dice toss.
