The aim of a Backgammon match is to shift your chips around the Backgammon board and pull them from the board faster than your opponent who works harder to do the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Succeeding in a match of Backgammon needsrequires both strategy and luck. How far you will be able to shift your chips is up to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and the way you move your chips are decided on by your overall playing strategies. Enthusiasts use different techniques in the differing parts of a match depending on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Tactic
The goal of the Running Game plan is to bring all your checkers into your inside board and bear them off as quickly as you can. This technique concentrates on the pace of moving your pieces with little or no efforts to hit or barricade your competitor’s pieces. The ideal scenario to use this technique is when you think you can shift your own checkers a lot faster than the opposition does: when 1) you have less pieces on the board; 2) all your checkers have moved beyond your opponent’s pieces; or 3) your opponent doesn’t use the hitting or blocking technique.
The Blocking Game Strategy
The main goal of the blocking strategy, by its title, is to block the opponent’s chips, temporarily, while not worrying about moving your pieces quickly. Once you have established the barrier for your opponent’s movement with a couple of chips, you can move your other pieces swiftly from the board. You should also have a clear plan when to withdraw and shift the chips that you utilized for blocking. The game gets interesting when your competitor uses the same blocking tactic.
