The Essential Details of Backgammon Game Plans – Part Two

As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and good luck. The goal is to shift your pieces carefully around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opponent shifts their chips toward their home board in the opposite direction. With competing player checkers heading in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for specific techniques at particular instances. Here are the two final Backgammon tactics to complete your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the goal of the blocking strategy is to hamper the opponents ability to shift her chips, the Priming Game tactic is to completely block any activity of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s pieces will either get hit, or end up in a bad position if he ever tries to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your board. As soon as you have successfully built the prime to stop the activity of your opponent, the competitor doesn’t even get to roll the dice, and you shift your chips and toss the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The aims of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to hurt your opponent’s positions in hope to improve your chances of succeeding, however the Back Game strategy relies on alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is frequently utilized when you are far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this strategy, you have to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This technique is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the checkers are relocated is partly the outcome of the dice roll.
